How to Make an Origami Key Chain?

The star origami keychain can be folded by adults and children.

The elaborate designs produced by origami , the Japanese art of paper folding, have been used for centuries as offerings and delicate embellishments. Often attached to gifts, origami can also act as a basis for a gift in itself. The key chain origami offers is one of those gifts that offers all the adornment with a set of keys. The star origami of the key chain follows a more basic origami pattern and is made from a single sheet of paper making it economical to build. Simple congregation glue helps to seal the paper, making the keychain pill box more durable.

What you need

Sheet 6 inches by 6 inches paper origami

drill

Clear nail polish

1 can spray transparent adhesive 4 oz

2.5 mm key ring with chain

Fold the upper left corner to the lower right corner, fold and unfold. Grab the upper right corner and fold down, toward the lower left corner, fold and unfold. Fold the top of the paper horizontally to the bottom. Create the resulting line and develop it. Make a vertical fold, fold and unfold.    

Pop the center point from behind. Push the side pieces to the center with two fingers and use the folds as a guide. Create the folds to form a triangle. This is known as the base " Waterbomb " in origami .   

Grab the right front cover and turn the triangle around and to the left as if it were the page of a book. Press for wrinkles and return to the original position. Keep the lower triangular angle of the right wing. Use the last fold as a guide and fold the right flap over and to the center, so that an edge meets the middle and the origami resembles a sailboat upside down. Turn the origami over.    

Fold the right flap over the triangle to the left corner as was done in the previous step so the flap is now folded on the left side. Press to fold. Grasp the bottom of the lid and pulling it up to create one of the tips of the star.  

Take the remaining right flap and fold it to meet the left side. Press the right edge to form a hard fold. Fold the fold over itself to make the end point of the star.  

Make a hole at the desired point with a hole punch. Cover the edges of the hole with two layers of clear nail polish to prevent tearing. Spray adhesive glue over the entire star and let stand to dry for five hours.  

Insert the one of cool key chains you prepare into the hole.

Tips & Warnings

Use the body of a pen or pencil to ensure the folds are tight.

Instead of clear nail polish, use hole reinforcement stickers to prevent the hole from breaking.
